El Mexicano - New Iberia

My partner and I had a date night for the first time. Our dinner was delicious and the service was also excellent!

Flavorful salsa and fresh chips. Fast friendly service. Tortilla soup was unique and tasty.

Ordered to go since I was on lunch. They did a good job of getting the food out fairly quickly, but they messed up my order entirely. I asked for no queso (lactose) and they smothered it all over the top. Ruined my meal. And for just the burrito my total was $15. Take what you want from this. Not going back.

The service at this restaurant is excellent and the Mexican food is very good. You can't go wrong here! On 02/07/22, I had the opportunity to return and tried the birria tacos. I am thrilled to have found them locally and they did not disappoint. They were very flavorful and juicy, becoming one of my new favorite Mexican dishes. I will have to try them every time I see them. I also tried the tortillas and they were amazing. Give it a try! I also had a frozen house margarita. It was a bit more limey than I usually like, but still good and had a nice kick to it. I must come back for more tacos! Enjoy!
