Spacious winery and brewery combo. While you can make reservations online, they are not required. There is plenty of seating on the deck, patios, and grassy premises. They now have a large fence blocking off the entire perimeter so you have to go through the main entrance, even if you park down in the field in overflow parking like we did. Because they serve food, outside food or beverage is prohibited. Thankfully, dogs are allowed but only in the outdoor areas. Overall, it's a nice experience, but some considerations: 1. Covid precautions were lacking to a large extent. Masks are not required and the overwhelming majority of guests were not wearing them, even when inside the tasting room, food pickup, and bathroom area. Generally, it looks like pre-pandemic business as usual. 2. Food prices are steep. Obviously, it comes with a territory and there are lots of reasons why food is more expensive now beyond this winery. That said, a small plate of shrimp cocktail was $13. The snack boards push $30. Admittedly, it was tasty and valued after drinking lots of wine. Just know this isn't a cheap date!
The four of us were sent out to the tent. There were several groups that were enjoying themselves.....with children under five. The noise was impossible to handle, so we left. My take on this experience? Don't put adults without children in that habitat. Its toxic. It's not enjoyable. And it's killed my experience here. The plus??? The White Merlot was very nice.
Very attractive venue. Service was great! Went to a Latin dance event, over all good experience.
What a shame this place is. We arrived at 11:00am, walked inside. No one greeted us, therefore no direction on what to do or where to go. We walked up to the bar counter and asked for a tasting. The lady responded okay, have you purchased your ticket? Well no, we had no idea we needed a ticket. Then we get informed that tastings start at 11:30. We left after that. We did not want to come and wait another 30 minutes. We wanted to taste the wine and buy a few bottles to take with us. Poor business and poor service. Go to Saudi Creek for a better a experience, service, and wine.
