Dairy Queen - New Minas

A last second choice as we were driving through New Minas. A place we all agreed on because we all enjoy Dairy Queen.We were greeted with a lifeless blank faced employee who had no smiles to share. The service was almost robot like with no human qualities. A very odd and cold quality to be working the front line of a restaurant. The ice cream, as always was good, but the burgers were were little more than blah. This was a shocking visit that left us wondering what has happened to Dairy Queen. Poor food and poor service???

I went through the drive thru because I really wanted just a peanut butter cookie dough snash blizzard and figured it would be quick. It definitely did not take long to go through ordering. I thought something was strange when I left the speaker (they never repeated my order back). I got to the window (only one car in front of me) and they asked what my order was again. I guess somehow I got missed? I am glad it was not busy or this could have taken awhile.

DQ now has two new specials, a $6 and a $7 meal that includes a sandwich, fries, large drink and an sundae. You get a coupon for the sundae so you don't have to take it with the meal and watch it melt. We actually ate lunch and then went to the Home Depot and picked up our sundae after shopping. The service was great and the place was clean even just after the lunch crowd finished. For $1 extra, you can change the sundae for a blizzard which I did.Definitely a good spot to eat.

We have visited this Dairy Queen location on a couple of occasions this summer which is located in the centre of the 'New Minas strip.' Taking into consideration it is a fast food outlet, the food has been excellent. In addition, the staff are super friendly and really do care about customer satisfaction. Our server (Jodi) went out of her way on both occasions to ensure our visit was the best it could be. Not to forget the rest of the staff who seem to be just as dedicated, and all working very hard to please.Another very noticeable 'attention getter' is the place is very clean with an attractive decor. There is ample parking, this is a great place to stop for a snack when you are on the move and need a quick bite and a few minutes of relaxation. We will be back again when in the New Minas area.(¯`·._.·ns¢ävË·._.·´¯)
