Elysian Seafood - New Orleans

I dislike giving low ratings, but both the gumbo and the red beans with sausage were lacking in flavor. I also tried the curry shrimp; while it looked appealing, the taste was off. The curry sauce was too thick, and the rice was undercooked, dry, and hard. Overall, I felt my $21 tip wasn’t justified. It was a pretty disappointing meal. I’m giving it 2 stars because the staff was friendly.

The oysters were mediocre, the service was non-existent, and the staff member was unwelcoming, bordering on rude. This is not a place I would recommend.

I paid $20 for the shrimp cocktail and got a sad little plate of 5 limp and poorly cleaned shrimp. They literally tasted mushy, as if cooked from frozen. How can you serve this to people and charge $4 per shrimp??

I rarely complain, but this was absolutely horrible. Over 20 minutes for a sandwich. Took 10 minutes to get a drink and then staff had to come back to ask what size I ordered. BBQ shrimp poboy was more expensive than the price on the menu. It had a few small shrimp. Incredibly bland. Then it was served with basically a cup of oil that had no seasoning. I can't even imagine they would sell something this terrible. Shrimp tasted frozen, not fresh. I would expect fresh large shrimp when paying $20 for a sandwich. Giant waste of time and money. Feel like I was scammed given what I was served.
