Contribuisci feedbackOver the years, we've visited when we wanted a nice sandwich. Not a great sandwich or a behemoth of sandwich. A nice sandwich. Overpriced, yes but I'm sure the rent in Wykagyl is not cheap. Nonetheless, never a first choice.Today, my wife got an attitude from the shorter guy' and, in today's world, there's no room for attitude. She then explained that this was a regular occurance. The taller guy' was nicer but not great either.When you're not the best or the cheapest, customer service and kindness is all you have to rely on. Maybe convenience too but that doesn't matter now. We'll be shopping elsewhere.
Best food. And they make you what ever you want ask for
Not great. I try to hit a different Italian deli as I drive out of the city back to CT for work a couple of days a week up in the Westchester area. This was my first venture to this establishment, and after getting attitude from the guy who was making my sandwich because I wanted a little bit of mayonnaise put on it, he then forgot to put the roasted red peppers that were supposed to be on this particular sandwich that he explained made the mayo unnecessary. Overly expensive, small portions, incorrect order and attitude...not a good combination. I’ll pass and continue to go to Insalata Pomidoro in Armonk.
If you want Italian dishes, this is the place to go. Nothing but good experiences here. Fabulous quality for eggplant bowl, Thanksgiving side dishes. Can't say good enough about her.
For the best dried meat, mozzarella and sauce. A few shelves with special olive oils, pastas, and canned tuna and a small area behind the register filled with products harken back to the original concept for the 1000 square feet square Ridge Shopping Center space that had owners (and brothers) David and Michael Zingone for the Italian meateria. “We have established it as a food/fruit/meat market,” says Michael, “but we soon realized that many customers did not often cook and instead wanted prepared food.” And prepare them, with many dishes based on Grandma Michelle recipes, including a cold shell full of take-out homemade soups (Bef barley, chicken meatballs, divided pea); flour-portioned heat-and-eat tablets from Italian-American classics (Eggplantat Parm, meatballs); and a knock-your-socks-off marinara Sauce. The deli counter has its own must meeting, including the Coleslaw with broccoli, carrots and cranberries (there are more than 20 homemade salads); sandwiches made on Terranova bread; and a hot lunch station with dishes such as apricot chicken and pork chops with vinegar. While cooking may have rejected the public, it is certainly not dead. The Zingone brothers from Master Purveyors can be ordered in the Bronx (Riffbrisket, whole main ribs). “Our father Gennaro owned Four Star Meat Market in the Bronx from the 1950s to 1996,” says Michael. “It is our legacy to always sell meat.” Not Miss: Chicken Marsala, Meat Lasagne, Homemade Mozzarella, Marinara sauce, Tuna salad, Coleslaw, roasted paprika, Thanksgiving special sandwich or cattle brisket sandwich, Italian wedding soup.
