The Surf - New Shoreham

Very hands off experience. Led to a table, handed two menus for a group of 6 You want drinks? Gotta go up and order at the bar. You want food? Order at the bar. Want water? Go get a cup yourself. Want utensils, salt, pepper, napkins, etc? You got it,go get it yourself. Everything (cutlery, cups, condiments, bowls is plastic/paper, which not only is expensive, but also trashfor the environment. Food and drinks (and service Left a lot to be desired. Small, dry, bland portions. No one checks on youhow the food is or if you need anything (no service, no tip! The only nice thing here is the view.

This is not The Surf we remember! New owners Managment maybe!? ???? Full disclosure, we ended up leaving didn?t actually try the food so I cannot speak on that. We have gone to The Surf for multiple years prior but this was a whole newexperience. There is no service! As in, you must go to the bar and place your food order, cafeteria style. Which wouldn?t bethat bad if there were someone willing to take your order the prices reflected this). There were 3 people working behindthe bar when we approached one women paying in front of us). No one wanted to help. They were chatting amongst themselveswithout a care in the world. After about 5-6 minutes of waiting then asking where we should be placing our order, we got aflippant reply without action. We moved our party of 6 at 5:45pm not busy Monday evening) over to The National. We always lovedThe Surf and have been going there every summer for years. But we have officially changed our dinning spot to The National. .

We went here with a party of 15 they set us up in this nice little surf shack with a great veiw of the beach and we sat there for over an hour before someone came over and told us there were no waiters and that it was bar service only for a party of 15.The surf used to be great but new management has really gone downhill on the service and then menu has been cut down quite abit. We called the National across the street and they were happy to transfer our party there with no wait, the service was 100xbetter and the food was delicious. We will no longer recommend the surf for anything other than bar drinks.

The service was non-existent. The food was very subpar; small portion, inconsistent temperature, and cheap quality. The food and drinks need to be ordered from the bar and you need to pay and tip ahead of time. The food is brought to you all at once withpaper plates and utensils. The only reason for two stars is for the view.

Absolutely loved our experience here. The corn black bean salsa was super refreshing. The poke bowls and fish tacos were so yummy!! My husband enjoyed his drinks, and we really loved the atmosphere! The decor and vibes were top notch. If you don?t mindordering food and bev?s at the bar, then you will really enjoy it here. Staffing shortages are everywhere people! Give them abreak : the service was awesome.
