I can't wait for my next visit to The Spot, and I highly recommend experiencing the magic this place and its team have to offer. Your taste buds will thank you.
The most fantastic meal of a chefs creation. We were visiting our cousins, staying in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. They took us here as it is their favorite, and I can see why. Chef Vaughn is an absolute artist with food. This was a creation of his, this Swirdfish was caught 36 hours prior to our ordering. They made a video of preparing the fish for serving. We had no say in its cooking style, but I would not have even thought of it. Korean style, homemade tropical salsa with a great variety of greens. The strawberry sauce was inspired and compliments the Korean spice. Service is top notch, Aiden was attentive and friendly, as everyone was. The cocktails are wonderful and bold. I had a Rye Old Fashioned that was had to beat.
I absolutely LOVE The Spott and have been there quite a few times now. Before I reached the front door the hostess opened the door and greeted us. We sat and our server (Tyler) introduced himself shortly after. We ordered drinks, appetizers and then dinner. Tyler continuously checked on us to make sure everything was perfect and the owner delivered some of our food items and made sure we were happy with everything too. The atmosphere, service and food are always fantastic and I can’t wait to go back and try more menu items!
Tonight, my boyfriend and I had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant. I ordered the catch of the day, while he ordered the wagyu steak. My fish was cooked perfectly and came with a delicious sauce, while his steak was incredibly tender. The staff, from the bartender to the chef, were all very friendly. In terms of vegetarian options, I saw that there was a cauliflower steak on the menu that looked really appetizing.
The food was tasty, but it was too expensive. The service was excessive in an attempt to justify the high prices. The atmosphere did not match the cost. $120 for a 16-ounce ribeye seemed excessive compared to steakhouse prices in LA, where it wouldn't be more than $70. Additionally, the staff's dress code was not as professional as expected. Overall, it felt like this restaurant was overcharging its customers.
