Authentic Chinese cuisine, friendly staff and atmosphere. We are here 2 times on this trip, will definitely try other dishes again. Definitely worth a visit. Note only
The restaurant serves authentic Chinese cuisine with a friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. We have dined here twice on this trip and will definitely try more dishes in the future. A visit is definitely worth it. Highly recommended for those looking for a true taste of China.
I almost missed this restaurant because there were no vegetarian signs outside the supermarket. The large lotus mosaic and cartoon monks should have been a clue. The restaurant was filled with locals, mostly older people, which is not surprising given its location in an industrial/residential area. You may have to share a table if you dine alone, but that's common in Hong Kong. I ordered a sweet noodle soup (priced at HKD38 plus HKD5 for tea). The soup was mostly filled with mock meat, which was okay, but I would have preferred more vegetables and mushrooms. I initially considered ordering a side of leafy vegetables, but it was quite expensive (around HKD48-60, if I remember correctly). They have tea-time promotions from 2:30 to 5 pm where there is no charge for tea and you can add on snacks and drinks for a low fee. A similar noodle dish would have cost HKD35. A 10% service charge is included in the menu prices on weekends, the 1st/15th day of the lunar month, and certain vegetarian festivals. While it's not a destination restaurant for me, it seems to be the only vegetarian option in this area of Tuen Mun. I would consider returning if I were in the area again.
This is a fantastic place to enjoy real Chinese cuisine in Tuen Mun. There is a wide variety of dishes to sample and the restaurant is always bustling. If you visit in the morning, you can also indulge in some delicious Dim Sum. The prices are fair. It's important to mention that English is rarely spoken and the menus are in Chinese, so it's recommended to bring a local friend along!
