Loved the variety of dishes ? so sad that we don't eat all kinds of meats we got left with very few options . There is no pasta dish alone with prawns but the chef made us as we requested, thanks to the girl who guided us and served us. She was too good with her job
Me and my partner were first greeted with a mildewy smell inside the restaurant, not so great, so we opted to dine on the patio. The server was actually lovely throughout, but the food on the other hand was so incredibly disappointing. We ordered two dishes one being the Calamarata Profumo Di Mare and the other being the Tagliatelle Papalina. The tagliatelle was for the most part okay taste wise. The portion sizes were ridiculously small for the price which normally wouldn't be so bad for a higher end restaurant, but this was not that. The quality of the food was so poor. For the Calamarata they ran out of clams, which can happen, but when the dish came out it was just so sad looking. The taste was even worse and left me so disappointed with paying $28 for what was the most mediocre pasta dish I've had in a long time. The reviews on this place are so inflated and the Google reviews must be skewed. Food looks nothing like the pictures. So disappointed.
We went to Artusi and I must say we were super happy with all aspects. Our server was very nice and she provided us with great attentive service. Since the menu items were authentic Italian , we ask her quite a few question about menu and she answered eveything very professionally. We ordered bruschetta , and it had some Italian cheese, tomatoes and pesto.. It was nicely presented. We also tried Gamberi and the flavour were super tasty. The balsamic reduction that it comes with had super nice rich favour. For the mains we ordered calamarata seafood pasta we loved the taste, fresh clams, prawns in a tomato sauce. My partner had Pici cinghiale, the in house made noodle tasted fresh, the meat rose sauce had pieces of the meat very rich in flavor and wasn't chewy. There tiramisu dessert is made in house and it was out of the world. The cocktail selection is fantastic. We loved the cozy atmosphere. Overall a great dining experience. We will surely recommend and we are coming back soon!
To be fair, the staff was good. They were really attentive and helpful.Even with the decent service I can't justify the price we had to pay for two bland pasta dishes, a lack lustre prawn appetizer and two drinks. When you see the menu the prices seem reasonable not cheap but reasonable. The actual product though had better days. We did not finish and had it in to go containers in the end. Hoping we can salvage it later with a bit of tweaking. To be honest, I've had better food court fare. The ambience is like a canteen trying to dress up for the prom but that is an insult to most prom venues. I think it's a tactic to justify charging their outrageous prices. Maybe in a another life this place was good but our visit today is a total disappointment. I won't recommend anybody to go there not even people I hate.
