Watched the noodles being hand-stretched and passed to the cook - can't beat that for freshness. Good value. This place is in the Skytrain station, just past the Hub, Andene and the Spud Shack.
My spouse and I made our first visit to North Noodle House in the New Westminster SkyTrain station. The place is tiny, so we were fortunate to get a table in this often packed room. Service was quick and friendly. We shared a bread pocket stuffed with cumin lamb, a very flavourful treat (although I had to eject a bit of bone or gristle). We learned that this came from the cuisine of Xinjiang province, totally new for us. We followed the pocket with a plate of fried noodles with pork, vegetables, and curry sauce. The pork strips were abundant and very tasty. The yellow curry sauce was flavourful, and a nice heat built up as we ate. I imagine that in China the vegetables might not be onion, bell pepper, and broccoli (perhaps preserved vegetable instead), but they were nicely stir fried. But the noodles. The noodles! I have never encountered noodles like this. They were firm (not overcooked) with a chewiness that I found particularly satisfying. As someone else wrote in a review, yes, I am already craving more.
Amazing freshly made hand shaved noodles. You think Italians know their pasta? Did you forget they took it from the Chinese! (Just a joke.) This place is amazing. You won't go wrong with anything they have on the menu. Also, ask for their recommendations! It's default spicy, so make sure you ask for it neutral if you can't handle the heat!
We were shopping and came upon this small Cafe in a bus/train terminal. We ordered a seafood cutting noodle, a beef dragging noodle and three skewers of lamb. The taste was good. Quantity was ample (though beef portion was insufficient). The lamb was dry and slightly salty for my taste bit altogether the food was very good. The place is clean. Your can see into their kitchen which is rate for Chinese restaurants. Staff are friendly. Prices were reasonable. I'll be back.
