Taqueria Playa Tropical

We'd go back and try something else to give it a fair chance because we enjoy Mexican food but if the restaurant were in Mexico it unfortunately wouldn't survive long. It was rather ordinary. The staff was nice and service good - the atmosphere - so so. We both ate the enchiladas - the chicken and the shrimp. The salsa verde was delicious as was the larger 3 oz. margarita were the smaller 2oz one tasted sweeter more like pop.

So, the monster burrito is MASSIVE. Even bigger than expected. My husband couldn't finish it even though it was delicious. I had the tacos carnitas and they may have been the best tacos I've ever had. The service is a touch slow, but you can see they are hustling hard the whole time. The food is 100% worth waiting for, and you can enjoy a nice cold beer and some chips and salsa while you chill. Check this place out. It's fantastic!

We went here on recommendation from a close family member.The service started out poorly but ended up non-existent. The food was delivered in spurts and then not at all. That is to state, two of the four entrees were brought to our table. About 5 minutes later, a third was brought out. After another 5 minutes, we asked where the fourth dish was. It was eventually brought to the table. We had also asked for glasses for our beer. They were brought out after asking a few more times.The food was bland and cold. The price is a bit steep, considering the part of town and the type of food.The atmosphere is fake Mexican.I gave this a 2 dot, only because we like the person who recommended it.

We over ordered...found a deal on Mobile Bandit and were driving by and stopped in. This is a mid sized but kind of hole in the wall place....NOTHING fancy. But the food is unbelievable....service is great.....prices are ridiculous for what you get.

Mozzarella cheese on Mexican food, weird! Where's the Mexican cheese? Hostess was not very friendly or professional. I wouldn't recommend this place.
