The food is tasty, the portions are big, the price is cheap.
I didn 't go in for the longest time because it looks like 'just another shawarma place ', you know the kind of places that are quick and cheap but aren 't super clean, and have kinda surly service and low quality food. I finally gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised, the place is very clean and the service is warm, friendly and prompt. Best of all, you can see and taste an obvious difference in the food because of the focus on in-house and from-scratch preparation. I went to Palmyra in Guildford recently but wasn 't too impressed -slow, unfriendly service, hummus from a can, smallish portions and a chintzy salad. The falafel plate here was totally in-house and you could taste the difference, the portion sizes were great, and the salad was substantial. The tabouleh had big chunks of tomato and cucumber in it, not like the tasteless grass clippings with tiny pieces of tomato in it you get at so many other places. I was also impressed with the in-house hummus. And at around $10, it was good value. In the quick service category, this is a hidden gem.
The food AND service is on another level. The owners go above and beyond every chance they get. My work ordered lunch from Taza once a month and the owner personally delivered and made sure everything was done to our liking. The portions were massive, and the quality was always amazingly high. Highly recommend!
I have been to Taza Falafel house a couple of times and would rate it as one of the best in New West. The Falafel was freshly made and very crispy. The Chicken Donair was fantastic. The meat was tender and the portion size was good. The owner is a very friendly person. Overall the food is inexpensive and the quality is very good.
