Nocello - New York

I made a reservation weeks in advance, only to arrive at the restaurant and find it closed. There was no notice or explanation provided - just a locked steel door. It was disappointing to not have been informed of the closure ahead of time.

My family and I recently had dinner at Nocello with our adult children, and we were all extremely pleased. We were warmly greeted upon arrival, seated at a beautiful table, and the evening only got better from there. Each of us ordered a different appetizer and entree, and every dish was delicious. The service was exceptional, neither rushed nor slow, and the servers were very friendly. We wouldn't change a thing about this restaurant. The prices are reasonable, especially for the city. We highly recommend Nocello.

I have been to many Italian restaurants in New York City during my 23 years of working there, but Nocello is undoubtedly the best one I have ever experienced. The charming ambience, efficient and friendly service, and out-of-this-world food make it a standout. My wife and I discovered Nocello while looking for a place to eat during a conference trip, and we were blown away by the quality of the dishes. The Caprese di Stagione salad with ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, basil, and balsamic was perfect, and the Pasta e Fagioli was delicious. On our second night, we canceled our reservation at Tavern on the Green to go back to Nocello, where we enjoyed a special dish of Saffron Risotto with bay scallops and Gnocchi al Pesto. The host couple made us feel like family, offering us digestifs after dinner each night. We will definitely be returning to Nocello in the future, as it has become our new favorite spot in the city.

The food and service were stellar. I had an eggplant dish as an appetizer. Superb! Unfortunately it was a special but worthy of being a mainstay.

I couldn’t have asked for better wait staff. They were very attentive, helpful and charming. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance too. I had the lobster pasta special and it was to die for! Lobster was tender and flavorful! I highly recommend and look forward to dining here again!
