It took another 10 minutes to have our order taken. We started with baked clams, a pear and gorgonzola salad, an artichoke, and insalata di polpo. For our main courses, we ordered the pork chop special, chicken Milanese, veal chop, and chicken scarpariello. Despite the slow service, we were all eager to eat, hoping the food would make up for the wait. Of the three appetizers, the pear salad was the standout—good, but not exceptional. The clams looked appealing but were drowned in liquid and lacked flavor, while the polpo was far too chewy, which is disappointing. Among the entrées, the pork chop was cooked perfectly, but the chicken Milanese was as dry as cardboard; I can only imagine what cardboard tastes like. The other two entrees weren’t worth a return visit, and the funniest part was that they couldn’t serve the correct plates to anyone at our table. Next time we want Italian, there are at least three other excellent restaurants within a two-block radius. I gave it a 3 out of 5 because it wasn’t terrible, and I’ve certainly encountered worse experiences.
We had an amazing Mother's Day meal in 2021 during the pandemic. The mother we celebrated was thrilled with the food, service, and dessert. If you're in the Upper East Side and are in the mood for some upscale Italian cuisine, this place is perfect. Normally, they only serve dinner, but they offered lunch for Mother's Day. We enjoyed sitting outside in one of their cozy structures. We will definitely be returning!
The food was decent, and the service was prompt, whether it was taking our order, serving the food, or refilling our drinks. However, if you're looking for personalized recommendations from the server, this isn't the place for you; I got the impression that he was not particularly invested in helping with that.
Made us wait more than 1.5 hours for our food and were very very rude to us. In the end when we asked for the check after 1.5 hours since we were tired of waiting, they were rude and one server said they weren`t a diner they were a restaurant and the other server said that in this restaurant they serve entrees after appetizers. I don't usually write bad reviews but these people were very mean.
My three guests and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The service was excellent and attentive. The Haus Chianti was fantastic, and we appreciated the very cold water. The ambiance was beautiful, and everything we ate was great. The truffle ravioli was exceptional. The melon and prosciutto were good, though the melon was a bit unripe. The veal piccata could have been pounded a little more. Overall, a lovely dining experience!
