Ashoka Upper West Side - New York

Came in to see if we could find a local Upper West Side Indian spot (for when we don't want to go to Drunken Monkey on the Upper East Side). We ordered: -Lasuni gobi -Chicken samosa -paneer saag -Chicken Tikka masala -onion kulcha The food was pretty good.A few of the kulcha pieces were slightly undercooked but we saved those for reheating because there was plenty of leftovers. Thelasuni gobi and the chicken samosas were our favorite part of the order. The paneer saag could have used a little bit more salt.But all in all, I would order takeout from here or stop in for a local meal.

I dined here last night with friends and family, and we were all incredibly impressed. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable, the service was flawless, and all of our entrees were far superior to what we've experienced at other Indian restaurants in the area. I highly recommend this place!

Charming restaurant! I stumbled upon it while searching for a dinner spot, and it caught my attention. The food was delicious, featuring all the classic dishes, and they certainly lived up to expectations. The service was a bit slow, but the staff was polite and attentive. I would definitely recommend it and would love to return!

I ordered Chana Pindi and Mangalorean Fish Curry through Grubhub, and I've attached a photo of what I received. Unfortunately, it arrived with a layer of floating oil, which not only looks unappetizing but is also quite unhealthy. After eating a little, my stomach became upset, and I ended up throwing the rest away. Sadly, this seems to be a trend with many Indian restaurants in NYC, where they mistake "spice" for "oil."

I used to order from here quite frequently and enjoy the food. However, I?ve had major issues with the delivery service (delays). The last time I ordered through the website, the food never came and I was not refunded. I called several times andwas told different things?that the system was down, that they were going to send the food, etc. Ultimately, the food neverarrived and I was told I would get refunded the $90 I spent. I?ve followed up a few times and still have not been refunded.After seeing the reviews about the cc tips, this sort of seems in line with the management. I would not recommend orderingdelivery.
