We ordered the fritto misto appetizer. Calamari had zero to no seasoning. Shrimp tasted andsmelled rancid. Cacio e Pepe was pretty decent but the penne alla vodka left a lot to be desired.
I've eaten at plenty of restaurants. This experience was the least memorable. My bolognese had no taste to it and soggy. The cabernet sauv did nothing to add to the taste. In fact it was flat. The bread seemed as if it was microwaved. I was notimpressed.
I came excited about homemade pasta. That claim seems inaccurate, but hardly matters because the cacio e pepe was atrocious. Other reviewers have called it flavorless, like eating air (would be less sad), sauce just water thickend with corn starch... Iwish I could really convey what $22 of water with corn starch on spaghetti tastes like. I noticed no one who ordered pastafinished theirs, but we were there for a birthday so we didn't talk about it. Service started totally fine (gentleman with thefull short beard/not a goatee or anything) but changed completely when the guy who's in all of their instagram photos replacedhim. Everything else during his uncomfortable service pales in comparison to him surprise feeding my friends their tiramisu atthe end of happy birthday, spoons in their faces from behind.
This place serves favorite Sicilian dishes and they don?t disappoint. This place had an outdoor dining set up even before the pandemic. We came here for early dinner and were conveniently seated outdoors. The menu is one page and very easy tounderstand. Upon seating, our server gave us homemade bread and olive oil while we dawdled on the menu. We started with abottle of Italian Pinot Grigio and a plateful of calamari fritti, we always order calamari wherever we can. Their calamari wasfreshly made and delicious it's pretty competitive. For the main entree, we decided to share 12 inches of Diavola pizza;mozzarella fior de latte, tomato sauce and spicy salame and pappardelle ala Bolognese; fresh homemade pappardelle withtraditional Italian beef ragu. The portion is perfect for sharing, the pizza almost took over our table with its size. We thenshared tiramisu served in a jar, we thought that was cute and also delicious. We left the place fully satisfied. We enjoyedevery dish that we ordered, we love the fastness of the service we don?t feel that we are being rushed. Awesome customerservice, good value. This place is a must-try!
I LIVE for that unlimited free bread you get at Italian restaurants ???? Seafood tagliatelle nice and fresh though I'm not cultured enough to appreciate pasta that isn't super ultra soft pro max. Prosciutto mozzarella arugula pizza was kinda like asalad on pizza but it was not bad. BUT THAT FREE BREAD THOUGH!! IT COMES WITH SUN DRIED TOMATO-OLIVE OIL DIP ????
