I only had drinks so I can't speak to the food, but the drinks were good. It's a fantastic spot for people-watching.
I came here for coffee. The service was excellent, and the latte was delicious and served with cookies. The restaurant gives you an amazing view of the Chamber of Commerce.
We enjoyed some late drinks at the bar and ended our evening with a slightly pricey cup of English tea for $5 each. However, it was a pot of tea and they offered fresh milk, so we felt it was worth it. The bar staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was surprisingly good - despite facing the bar, it was not noisy.
Food is excellent, surprisingly quiet place to have a meal overlooking the main concourse at GCT. They lose a start for just pouring us water from a bottle instead of asking if tap water is ok (first of all everyone knows NYC has the best water, second of all I have never eaten at a restaurant, ANYWHERE, no matter how fancy, that didn't ASK FIRST before serving you bottled water and then charging $10 for it). THey also serve bottled Coke so when your glass runs dry they just bring another think THAT was $6 a pop? Not cool. Otherwise the food was very good and they nicely stored our luggage for us while we were seated.
