I requested mojo (garlic sauce) and was met with confusion. They were also out of Yuca, and the sides were not included in the price. The food seemed overpriced and tasted old and soggy, as if it had been sitting under a hot lamp for too long. The fried plantains (tostones) and fried batata should have been cooked to order but were not. The service was average, but the menu was confusing and the ordering system was disorganized. Unfortunately, many restaurants in the Heights are similar to this one. I would recommend trying the chicharrons sold on the streets at the corners of 182nd and St. Nicholas for a tastier and more affordable option.
The food is amazing!! The chicharron is super crunchy. There’s no place like Elsa’s
The roasted chicken crackling is delicious. Everything was good.
Decent chicharron, but not necessarily better than any other 'cuchifritos ' place. Will continue the search.
One of the best Chicharron I had...has been at 10 all the time
