He seemed to know the menu inside out, and his selections had us celebrating with every sip. For starters, we enjoyed Grilled Wellfleet oysters, Yache pajun, and a Fluke crudo that completely altered our perception of what "mind-blowing" really means. The highlights of the meal, Hwe dup bop and Kalbi jjim, truly delivered, with the raw fish taking center stage like a true star. But the experience didn’t stop there; Keith expertly paired drinks that complemented each dish perfectly. It was like a beautifully orchestrated symphony of flavors and sips, leaving me reevaluating all my previous dining experiences. Haenyeo is more than just a restaurant; it’s a journey into a whole new realm of Korean culinary delights. From Keith’s impeccable choices to the dishes that tantalize your taste buds (in the best way possible), this place doesn’t just serve food—it creates lasting memories.
It's a bit on the expensive side, but this is one of the best places I've come across in Brooklyn for Korean food and cocktails! The experience is more upscale than what you'd find in K-Town, making it a great choice for a date night (though it's not ideal for vegetarians).
I had a fantastic dinner experience at Haenyeo, which is perfect for a pleasant evening with friends! Since I had never tried Korean cuisine before and am not very good with spicy food, I was thrilled to sample the bulgogi and yache pajun. The dukboki was definitely on the spicier side, but I still enjoyed it a lot. The service and atmosphere were wonderful as well. I would definitely return just to have the bulgogi again; it was a lot of fun to customize my own dish with such great options!
Highly recommend it.. what a gem in fifth avenue Brooklyn. A friend suggested this place and she rarely gets it wrong in Brooklyn. The ambience is cool and classy and I really don't think there is anything like a bad table here. We took place at the bar. Our bar tender was extremely nice and eager to please. Their cocktail menu is so unique. I really enjoyed NY sleepover ; chamomile whiskey sour topped with Chianti float. My friend experimented with mizu lemongrass Shochu topped with egg whites and sesame.Loved Japchae appetizer and it got me excited for the mains. We picked grilled Spanish mackerel and spicy squid bibimbop. 5/5 for both the dishes. Right balance of favors, texture and spice. The food hit at all the right spots and the quantity was sufficient as well. There was no place left for a dessert, though would have loved to try the sesame crème brûlée. The only word of caution is that this isn't a cheap place and the dishes are priced on a steeper side.Instantly fell in love with this restaurant and can't wait to be back.
We had a reservation for 10 people for dinner on a Friday great service, appetizers (small plates), and entrees! Haenyeo has a great atmosphere of bar/restaurant, and the service was excellent for our larger group! I appreciate that a dessert was brought out for our friends birthday! Small but mighty wine list; many people got cocktails as well and all were liked! The entrees were my favorite part ojingo bibimbop was a HUGE portion, perfect spice level, and overall one of the best dishes I've had in a long time! Crispy rice as an appetizer is a must as well!(Poor photo quality lol)Vegetarian options: Easy to remove chorizo from app; accommodating for vegetarian needs!
