We had a truly authentic New York brunch experience! We took a delightful scenic detour while walking along the Hudson Line. The brunch and drinks were excellent. Thank you for helping us celebrate our unofficial 20+ year high school reunion!
Another waiter, who was familiar with us, offered us a choice between a table right next to a loud speaker (no, thank you) or one beside the pastry display. We begrudgingly chose the latter, only to find that the pastry display was blowing hot air at us the entire time we sat there. We waited and watched for the large party that was supposedly coming in, but they never arrived. The redheaded bartender even brought our food without saying a word. As we were leaving, we mentioned to the staff that we hoped the party would eventually show up. The redhead simply responded with a comment about their reservation policy. Now it’s the weekend again, and both my husband and I have agreed that we don’t want to return. I really hope the owner sees this and addresses the lack of people skills with that bartender because we genuinely enjoy this restaurant and their eggs Benedict and eggs Hemingway are consistently good.
Cute little hole in the wall restaurant that I would have likely missed if it wasn't for Yelp, especially since there's construction around the restaurant at the moment. Since we were there on a holiday weekend, I called in advance to make sure that they would have a table available for us, and they were very accommodating. When we showed up, our table was ready, and we were promptly seated. It's quite cozy inside with no more than a few handful of tables. When I first walked in, I did wonder if we were in the right place since it looked more like a little cafe. It was clean inside though and well ventilated with the kitchen hidden in the back, making it seem smaller than it is. It's casual but inviting. Two of us, including myself, got the tagliatelle bolognese, and we agreed it was delicious. The other two individuals in our group got the gnocchi one got the special with pesto and the other got the one in red sauce. Both loved their meals as well; I had a bite of the gnocchi and found it light and pillowy as it should be. We all got drinks as well, and I got the Moscow mule. It was a little bitter, but overall pretty good. The service was attentive and good, and I was very happy to have found this restaurant thanks to Yelp! I'd be happy to come back for lunch the next time I visit NYC.
The food I had was okay, but the match latte and the cappuccino was not good, no taste and the waitress was mad and showed her attitude when my friend ordered wrong drink. When we check out we wait for the bill to come we want to slit for pay, they said we have to go to inside and pay instead of sit on the table and wait for them to do that. I will never go back there again.
