Food was very tasty! The ceiling was very high and the atmosphere was basic, not bad by any means, but not inviting or cosy either. Prices are expensive as all Japanese food is in New York compared to what you would pay for the same meal in Japan.
This place is a dream. Amazing food, serene wood-finished interior, delightful staff, authentic Japanese vibe, extensive sake selection. My favorite dishes are the Kaisen Don sushi bowl and Tonkatsu breaded pork cutlet. All the side dishes are amazing too.
Amazing and tasty food! Albeit did not speak Japanese, the Service was super nice. Atmosphere is great and the interior decor and design is beautiful ! I ordered the Yosenabe as well as the croquette as an appetizer. The main dish was surprisingly small still filling. Our friend ordered the Tonkatsu which was good, but Mama Yoshi Mini Mart has better Tonkatsu IMO. Would recommend trying this place, but not if you are on a budget, the bill was $40 per person.
Food maintains high quality in my 20+ visits throughout Covid, and I always like the chill atmosphere as long as it's ambient music. Seasonal sets and mocktails are creative. Quiet yet easygoing overall. Great place for eating alone after wandering for an entire afternoon. Deducted one star because it used to be a no tip place while it bumped the menu price too much.
