Set Bistro J M D R - New York

I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. I had high hopes as it is a local establishment, but unfortunately, it was overpriced and overhyped. The wings and fries were flavorless and expensive. While the portion of fries was generous for a sit-down restaurant, they were not enjoyable. I typically like to ensure the server is taken care of, but I was not aware of the policy including gratuity until I closed out my bill. Overall, I was not impressed and will not be returning due to this negative experience. I hope they make some changes to improve their business. The service was okay, the atmosphere could be improved to make it a more enjoyable place to dine. The music was good and the restaurant was clean and inviting. Personally, I did not have any issues with the staff or security.

The service at this restaurant is exceptional. The bartenders are extremely friendly and sociable, and they recommend amazing food and drinks. They provide personal attention, which is especially important coming out of a pandemic. I will definitely be returning here for the rest of the summer.

The set combos are $17-20 and are a allright portion, with a main item and waffle fries/tots. We got the beyond burger, which was well cooked, kebabs and slider which were all delicious. After the renovation, the street art interior and neon lights arepretty cool. They have about 4 large TVs that have regular sports content, good for catching the game over some dinner ordrinks. The outdoor dining shed has a similar decor as well, but we are indoors so can't speak to that experience. An fyi, 20%mandatory tip is included regardless of party size. Kind of defeats the purpose of the tip, wish they would let us decide tipbased on level of service.

The food at this restaurant was delicious, but the drinks were lacking in strength. Unfortunately, everything on the menu was quite pricey. We ordered Moscow mules during happy hour for $10 each, but they tasted like they were pre-made and excessively sweet. Our Old Fashioned cocktail did not even come with ice.

The place was cute. However you have to check your bill. We went to happy hour and the waiter was confused regarding Happy Hour time. Also the specials only apply to the bar area. I went because of Charbroiled oysters and they were good for NY.
