Saturday evening and the restaurant was empty.... no guest, no wine, no beer... no green tea... and mmmh Lachs was outside and just an anomka to choose from... Whatever was served was fresh and good, but not exceptional in any way, nor was it worthy of Michelin. Maybe it was just a strange night, but... big expectation great disappointment overall.
The place is small, but it has a beautiful environment. The food is good, you will love it if you like seafood. It is too expensive for food and service.
I expect Grandmakase to be served by the cook in an orderly fashion. This service was in waves. We were served at once a large plate of nigiri. Remember that this place is price at Eleven Madison Park level, so I expect better, or I want to spend less. Most dishes were good. They are not for beginners. This review comes from the carelessness when service at the price point.
Completely scandalous and scandalous. A bunch of fried food at the beginning and only 10 pieces under Par Sushi at the end. At one point, I saw the cook running Costco food prepared on a plate. He didn't even want to hide it. Irre for $300 per person meal. Oh and tip? Yea's duty, as they conveniently have an automatic 20% satisfaction in your bill without asking. In this case, why more? Just list it on your ridiculous prices. I'd go to Nakazawa every day. a journey not worth the whole way to Harlem, only to be demolished. You should be ashamed, but I guess I'm the idiot who fell into this trip.
It is very unfortunate that I have to write this type of review. I traveled from from abroad for a 1 day business trip with a reservation set for dinner plans and come to find out the reservation booked a day ahead of the day I originally requested. I tried to change it and i was told we couldn?t. When I tried to cancel the reservation the receptionist told me I would be charged a fee. I tried explaining that I would not be in town and she just wouldn?t listen and simply told me it didn?t matter. Again I tried to be polite and offered to send a copy of the ticket so she sees that I was being honest but she just wouldn?t listen and as if I was rubbish, she dismissed me. I tried speaking with the manager and she said she was the manager and wouldn?t allow me to speak with anyone else. This is the type of behavior that causes companies to lose both local and international clients; which in turn reflect poorly on the brand. I Personally, will not be visiting and hope that those that would are cautious. Spend your money where you are respected.
