Desserts were phenomenal. Don't come here if you're looking for a large meal, but rest assured the food is just as incredible as the wine and the atmosphere.
Incredible dinner at wild air. Do not sleep on the gem salad or the lovely orange wines. Great American food. Fun first date spot
I've thought about visiting here for a while, but I've never had a chance to since they don't take reservations. This time, I happened to be in the area around the time when they open, so I decided to give a try. I also recommend others to visit a little after 5pm, as I could see seatings could be a bit tight when they get busy. It wasn't hard to get a seating right after its opening. Just like their cozy space, I loved how their menu was small, easy to scan, easy to hold, and easy to pick. I somehow had an impression of this place along the line of high-end diner, but it was closer to tapas bar. Aside from 24oz wagyu striploin, everything on their menu seemed to be a small bite for drink. I also saw a couple at counter for very short time; I imagined they just had a quick bite and drink. I would also use here similarly, for a place to meet up for a drink before larger dinner. First, I ordered Scallop Crudo. Scallops were layered with dashi-flavored shiitake mushroom. While scallops provided the initial texture, the flavor of dashi immediately supplemented those scallops. More surprisingly, the capers' sourness came after, and they all worked together well; As if sashimi with dashi-flavored soy-sauce, and a hint of ponzu. Seared Tuna was another dish I had, and it was nothing that I expected to taste or look. Tuna was extremely thinly sliced, as if they were prosciutto. They were seared but almost raw, which I preferred anyways. The taste was extremely light, but it was served with a lot of lardo and Jimmy Nardello pepper, so I would pair it with a glass of red wine. It was definetely interesting and worth trying.
Consistently delicious desserts and extensive natural wine list. Staffs are friendly and knowledgeable.
I’ve made a habit of visiting Wildair when I’m in New York this year. A casual food experience where simple dishes like a spicy chicken or steak sandwich or filled donut are elevated to some of the best food you can find.
