Amazing place, great cigar/drink menu, high end place so expect to shell out some even for regular cigars or drinks wellworth it though!
Nice atmosphere. Lacking service and marginal food. The cigars are priced 4X retail.
Seven years later, it's still the best steak I've ever had. My mom, who joined me for the first time, agrees. The service was excellent, much better than the last time I visited. The only thing negative I might say is, despite the strict dress code (which I remembered and had to purchase clothes to prepare for, coming from 5 hours away where we dont dress up often there were many patrons wearing sneakers, blue jeans, and even t-shirts and hoodies! I don't know if they're well known and get special privileges, or if the dress code isn't as strictly upheld as it used to be, but for the people who come from farther away it might be best to update the policy publicly if it has changed or uphold the policy so that the rest of us don't feel as if we've gone through extra trouble for no reason. That was a minor thing though, and the rest of our visit was simply excellent. I highly recommend, if you visit, to get the ribeye : You won't regret it!
I've been to Macanudo a few times more and enjoy it more each time. This particular Friday evening was a spontaneous visit with a girlfriend. We sat at the classic wraparound bar. The music was great! The only issue we had was upon entering the hostess told us there was a $40 minimum. That was very off putting since she did not say that to the men who entered behind us. The menu states the minimum and pointing it out to us was a bit offensive. We're on the UES expect onedrink to be $20. Aside from that encounter the vibes were good and I would return for sure.
