This is an excellent restaurant that is mainly vegan, but has chicken and fish options. Otherwise it would be 5 stars of me. We shared the lentil soup (like Manna on a cold day), the superb flower steak with basil sauce and the Portobello Pilzquesadilla. The food was so good, fresh and healthy that we had to taste the dessert. Oh, my word of blueberry cheesecake was wonderful. The icing on the cake was Bill the owner who not only served us, made the cheese cake!!! The best food I had on my trip to NYC. Supports this wonderful business. A new owner took over during the shutdown and really improved the menu of the facility. If you're not here in a few years, try again! There are tons of vegan options: soups, salads, burgers, sweet potatoes, zoodles (Zucchini pasta), real pasta, quinoa bowls, tacos, cheesecakes, cakes and much more. All vegan and vegetarian items are marked on the menu. Also most non-veg items have a vegan option when you request it. There are tons of GF options, but they are not marked (yes). There is a small GF area in the menu, but *many* other things in the entire menu have GF options (just ask). This is the Upper East Side, so nothing will be cheap. But prices are very reasonable in terms of everything else in the neighborhood.
Since this is in my neighborhood, I often go here, especially when I am with all things. The food here is pretty good and a little healthy. This is not the kind of place where I would go out of my way to dinner, but it's okay if in the neighborhood.
This sweet little spot has many vegan options. I will also say that their vegan options are a bit pricier - but this is likely because they are on the Upper East Side, which is a beautiful area and I understood that when eating it, so it was not a big thing. BUT, at least they have vegan options! I emphasize them with the options because this is not a vegan restaurant! The café should be a healthy place to eat, and they sell dishes with chicken, fish and turkey. They don't sell red meat or pig. You have a pad Thai dish, and several other vegan options, enough to choose something and not feel deprived. You also have a dedicated vegan dessert menu – a complete menu that has 4 or 5 desserts on it, including cakes and cheesecakes. Great place and staff are friendly and helpful.
