Really sad with our experience. This was the one place that I really wanted to visit because I had watched the Chef's Table episode about Milk Bar and fell in love with Christina and her amazing ideas. My husband and I showed up right when they opened and it seemed like they weren't prepared for people. We were the only ones there so you would think it wouldn't be to hard to put a smile on and greet us. It was silent when we walked in and the 3 employees that were behind the counter just kind of stared at us. So we walked up and had to tell them we would like to order some things. The options were very bare and not much to them. We ordered the 6 pack of cookies and a slice of birthday cake $11 for a tiny slice . When we asked for a bag we were given an annoyed look by the employee which made us feel very uncomfortable. Again we were the first and only customers in the store, you would think that they shouldn't have been annoyed yet by anything. The cookies were really dry and lacked flavor. I think the saving grace for Milk Bar was the cake. It was amazing!! the crunchy pieces and the moist cake were a perfect combination. I wanted to go back and get a whole cake if I wasn't watching what I am eating and could easily transport it through the airport!: Customer service needs to be addressed.
I had an iced latte with cereal milk and the famous pie. Maybe the expectations for the previous called crack pie were too high, maybe it's just not for my taste, but it was a disappointment. The latte was ok, I definitely couldn't see any difference using the cereal milk. Besides that, this particular location was clean and the attendant was helpful and friendly.
Terrible coffee, please don’t order drinks from here. My friend got the americano which is basically watered down espresso and it was toooo strong and burnt. I got the specialty latte, milk cereal, and there was no sweetness. Was tooooo bitter for a milk cereal latte. The cookies are great though. This is why I don’t like to tip before getting my order, the drinks came out horrible, waste of money. And why would I tip someone for fetching me some cookies?
I finally visited Milk Bar in NYC, fulfilling a long-standing wish since seeing it on Chef's Table, and I'm thrilled I did. Although the iconic Crack Pie was no longer available, the Cereal Soft Serve proved to be a delightful substitute. The creamy, milky soft serve with a touch of saltiness and cornflake crumbs was a delicious treat. Enjoying it by the window provided a perfect vantage point for people watching. I can't wait to bring my fellow sweet-toothed friend to experience this fantastic dessert shop.
