St Arnaud, Alpine Store - New Zealand

Amazing coffee, thank you And a nice shop with many different things you might need for a hike! Even some veggies and pies/sandwiches, and tables to sit down.

DO NOT GO!! Cafe is terrible and takes forever just to make a simple toastie!! Overpriced, tasteless food and rude staff.

I had a disappointing experience at this store. There were hardly any prices listed on most grocery items, and I found their charges to be unreasonable. To make things worse, I purchased biscuits that were two years past their expiration date, and I had to argue with them just to get a refund.

The atmosphere inside was a bit odd, and the staff didn't seem very welcoming. It felt like they charged whatever they wanted. I noticed on a few occasions that when they scanned items and couldn't find them in the system, they just made up a price. Other travelers at the Alpine Lodge had similar experiences. My advice would be to shop at a larger supermarket before arriving in St. Arnaud.

I found the two Indian guys extremely rude. After placing our order there was lots of conversation in Indian between them. I did ask what they had said in English but no reply. If you don't have to stop keep going. Rooms: 2 Service: 1 Location: 4
