The staff was rude. I waited 15 mins for a drink and 45 min for food. Food was just warm and the drinks watered down. I expected more from what I was told but sadlydisappointed. This place is off my list.
Wow. This pop up restaurant located in Hotel 21C was phenomenal! I don't remember how I heard about it but we convinced some friends to try it with us one night and had no regrets! The decor was so intimate and tropical, we were instantly transported to an exotic destination! With regards to the menu, everything was funky and fun, and our tastebuds were so pleased. We ended up ordering the mini lobster corn dogs and sweet potato hummus for appetizers, and the tiki burger and huli huli kabobs for entrees. The drink menu sounded fun and all but being pregnant, I opted for the Placebo cocktail. It was cute at least, and tasty! Okay, so let me just say, holy ****. Where have these mini lobster corn dogs been all my life?? These dipped in whatever sauce they gave on the side was simply amazing. Full of flavor and just such great texture. Yum. Oh, and the sweet potato hummus?? Say what?? I'm going to need this recipe ASAP. It was that good. Moving on to the main entrees. Okay, so the tiki burger was good and it was thiccc. Three C's. We didn't expect it to be so thick and it was super filling. Plus it came with these thick fries that had some perky seasoning that just made them so addicting to eat. And let's not forget about the chicken kabobs. So let's just say that I had leftovers and I ate them for lunch the next day--and they were still moist and tender af!! Really. How on earth did they get that kabob so tender?? Ugh. That, paired with the rice and veggies, it was my absolute favorite. I almost forgot. Dessert. We just had to. The Sunrise Sunday. Perfection. I'm not sure how long this place will be up and running but if you haven't tried it yet, it's definitely a must!!
The menu was small. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. The cocktails were decent and average price for the area. For some reason they sat my GF and I between two couples on a shared bench despite the majority of the space being vacant. The ambiance was nice for the most part. The restaurant is pretty, but it was also very quiet when we were there. This combined with our close proximity to the few other guests made it difficult to have a conversation. We could easily hear every word of our neighbors' convo and I am certain they could hear ours. It was an okay experience, but I would not go back. Granted it was a temporary set up anyway I am told.
So, I made reservations on the last Friday they were to be open because, let's face it, I absolutely LOVEEEEEE themed restaurants. The inside was absolutely gorgeous, although I would've preferred them to have extended the decorations out into the periphery of the area that opens out to the lobby... I think they missed the mark on this. The food was decent. The pimento cheese I ordered with my fries was broken and thin. Pimento cheese should be chunky, more like a spread vs a dip I'm from the south *NOT oklahoma* so I consider myself a pimento cheese connoisseur). The sandwich was good, though. The drinks were also delicious. I give this place 3.5-4/5. Y'all killed me with the pimento cheese : Overall I would def come back if they re-open next summer!!
