Garden State Diner

We had to stay in the airport all day and went to various places to buy food. This place by far was the greatest place, it had really good food and great service, unlike other restaurants in the hotel. Really recommended.

Had to sit at the bar, wasnt allowed to sit on the couch because I only ordered a coffee. Coffee didn't taste great either. Not recommended.

This is where to eat at Newark airport. It was reasonably priced (for an airport) and the food was good. Nothing fancy but good serving sizes and decent. All the other places are super overpriced and owned by the same company.

The best way to describe this place is “they tried”. Summary: Expensive, mediocre food, mediocre service. Kitchen was hella slow for me, my food took 2x as long to come out as anybody else (I got a burger). The staff never bothers to check in and see how the food is. The burger is the same thing you get anywhere else at the airport, stamped out of a mold. Fries were limp, no crunch to be found.

5 star airport food, 3-4 stars in general. Food was quite tasty. Prices were reasonable for an airport. Portions varied but ranged from average to well above average. Would definitely recommend if you are in Newark airport and looking for something sit-down to eat.
