The Crew Yard Cafe Bistro

The veg platter was back on and brilliant! All other food was brilliant. It was very busy and the lady apologised and offered free drinks! The gardens are sublime! We drive all the way from Oxford to visit! Bacon for the dogs as well!

An eye opening experience. We expected good food but to be impressed with Vegan food, from the menu, was very pleasant. A special thank you to Chloe and Jackie.

We called in at the antiques place on the way back from picking something up in Edwinstowe off Ebay. After a look in the antiques shop we thought we'd pop in the Cafe. It was situated on a sun trap courtyard with the option of sitting outside and a pink house in the Normandy style to the back (apparently this is common in the Dukeries and was built in the Edwardian period by th Estate. As I've got older I've become intolerant to dairy as it is a migraine trigger, so was relieved to fid they catered for me when I asked for tea with oatmilk. In fact they had a very extensive Vegan menu. (I'm not a vegan but dairy obviously limits me). On the dessert special was a vegan offer for a Knickerbocker Glory. Now I used to love ice cream and Knickerbocker Glories take me back to my childhood in Forte's or Pacitto's. Obviously something that I cannot have as a matter of course so as I treat I thought I'd gove it a go. It was Heavenly. All fresh fruit, vegan cream and ice-cream. My wife had a stuffed hot croissant. The staff were freindly, chatty and helpful and if we're ever passing we will call in again. I will also definitely be telling my friends about this gem.

Wow, just wow Been a while since we visited to be fair but our experience today was outstanding. Soup and Quesadilla, was out of this world and a real change to other places with the menu. Having a nosey at the food to other tables looked fantastic, and later, all empty plates. The table service was exceptional. So pleasant and open to a bit of banter. Today , your team made 4 of us really welcome and most definitely will be back very very soon Have you made my room up ?

If you have not been to this hidden gem seek it out...beautiful courtyard in summer .. wonderful, friendly staff and AMAZING food...4u come at least once a week and never eaten anything that's not delicious and all cooked to otder..fantastic abd there's the lovely antique emporium tp browse after.
