Grain Craft Kitchen - Newark

My Wife and I along with our 1 year old son recently visited the location in Newark. We were surprised by sun-par service as our waitress forgot to sub our sons chicken tender order’s fries with Broccoli. My meal was good but my wife upgraded her chips to truffle fries that were very small in portion and also very cold. Additionally our sons order did not come on a frisbee which was disappointing and was not reflected on our bill. 3/5 rating for good food and poor service

Grain on Main Street has always been one of my favorite restaurants on Main. Whether it’s sit in or take out. Tonight after a long day in DC we ordered takeout. 2 salads and a sandwich. I got home and one salad was missing. After calling for an hour and not getting through I drove back to the restaurant. The manager, Jordan I was told, knew exactly what was missing because he packed the order. No apology, just a credit. Which I said I could have done over the phone but he said Verizon was coming out to look at their phones. I was not offered another salad or an apology. Nothing for my inconvenience. As I am leaving he says “Have a good night”. My back was turned, so I kept walking. He then yells “Or NOT!” I spun around and said “Are you serious”. He said I should have responded! Excuse me sir, I did not have a good night because of you and you did nothing to help me to have a good night. Crediting my account was your responsibility . An apology would have been nice. And maybe fulfilling my order. But not to worry, you have lost one of your customers so yes, You have a wonderful evening. SMH…

Order the salmon cake and the chicken cheesesteak . Felt that the cheesesteak was missing a flavor, but overall the food was good. Great service the food didn’t take long to be served and the staff were very kind and polite. To be honest I didn’t like the atmosphere especially inside you feel it’s more like a bar, and the smell of alcohol is just unbearable. However the outside seating was good, but in a hot weather like this week it’s not that great.

Cool spot, lots of drinks to choose from, friendly people, didn't have any good but it looked good.

Way overpriced for the food and drinks… your typical bring the parents when they visit restaurant. I’d suggest taking them anywhere else in the area… even just down Main
