I have been visiting this restaurant for several years as it has a well-marked vegan menu that is not common for an Indian restaurant. one of the owners is vegan and gluten-free. I usually have the shaak (roti and 2 curries) or the thiali together with a snack (e.g. vada pav, khaman) and it is never disappointed me. the unhiyu curry could become somewhat oily.
Fully vegetarian Indian restaurant with a menu that identifies vegan and vegan optional elements, as well as the most popular items. almost all customers in the restaurant were south asian, what I think is always a good sign. the host in the register was thrilled to know that it visited our first time and she was very happy to recommend large vegan dishes. we tried the gujarati thali without the rita and the samosa chaat that both were incredibly good. (see accompanying photos of every large variety on the thali, and really delicious mixed on a redi brot. we have also really enjoyed the masala dosa, which is a large cream with a kartoffel and twirl mixture inside. the crepe part was a little oily, but very thin and tasty when mixed with the cocos and tomato chutneys. the restaurant is very casual with simple parking, and in contrast to a previous review, there were many tables available and it was perfectly pleasant. in any case worthy of the return visit! updated from the previous review on 2018-03-28
Excellent gujarati vegetarian/vegan food, cheap, fast service. in any case a trip or more worth. updated by previous review on 2016-09-04
Their menu clearly states vegan and vegan optional although I suspect some items like the vada pav may have butter on it, to be sure you should ask for it vegan. Otherwise this is probably my favorite veg Indian restaurant in the bay. For the most authentic experience try the Undhiyo. Not great for dine in as its always busy.
