Archie & Clyde's - Newburgh

Eating is good. Party room was booked over a month. 50 people in group with only 1 server. It took 1 1/2 hours to order some parties. Needless to say, we had to refill our own drinks, please order cutlery. I'm surprised we didn't have to cook our own food.

I hate being this negative, but I have always not seen why this place was such a beloved institution beyond its big party room accommodations. I've been a lot over the course of 10 years and still have to see the appeal. The pizza is good if you are a fan of cracker crust, but not great. Sad that's the only thing I can really recommend on the menu. Everything else was only moderate or sub par, with the exception of service and cleanliness. The house salad is sincerely one of the most horrific salads I have ever been served a pale amount of sad iceberg salad with what seemed a half bag of pre-shrinked cheese and a disproportionate amount of raw onions and underripe tomatoes. Tonight I started ordering a **** lady, and was told that she was from the mix and could 't make a (although also a full bar area and drink on her cocktail menu). Next, I ordered bones in wings that I was also informed that they were out. After placing on boneless wings (which, I admit, were good for boneless wings, but I prefer bones in), another member of our party ordered the rack of ribs that were extremely dry and gummy to the point of being almost inedible, and sent them back, just to say that they had to order the last rack (very obviously) and he would have to order something else. He got his meal for the inconvenience. Two other members of our party received a Caesar salad and Caesar wrap that were just fine the salad was on the edge of too much dressing and was soggy while serving, and the pack had almost no dressing. The only member of our party that had a great experience was the one who ordered the potato pizza. Our server was great and did a good job to take care of us, despite the problems we experienced, but I don't think personally that I will be back. I know many places experiencing supply chain problems, but it's a pretty big bummer for a place to be its bar in the name of a weekend night out of wings. I will say that the prices for the area are unusually modest, but I think that is quality.

Our pizza was excellent and handmade with high quality ingredients. Service was warm and friendly. Prices are competitive and parking is plentiful.

Good service and great tasting pizza. Fun atmosphere and a large menu. My group really liked there food. Have to go back soon. Prices are average.
