The restaurant at the Vineyard Hotel has a fascinating and somewhat tumultuous history. Chef Daniel Galmiche took over the helm in 2010 from John Campbell, who is now at The Woodspeen. At that time, the restaurant boasted two Michelin stars, but naturally, those accolades were lost after Campbell's departure. While it no longer meets the standards for two Michelin stars, it is certainly close to receiving one, offering an excellent dining experience. The cuisine is classic French, and the ambiance of the dining room is absolutely beautiful—there's an undeniable sense of opulence and spaciousness that enhances the overall experience.
This was truly an exceptional dining experience. What stood out to me were the delightful little touches, the unique flavors I had never encountered before, and the thoughtful finishing details. I may never taste another sugary celery leaf, but it will certainly stay with me. I’m also excited to incorporate “pearls” into my own soups from now on. It was a fantastic experience overall, perfectly paired with the wine. I look forward to exploring more wines in the future. The staff’s enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion for wine were evident, and if anyone is curious about wine, this is the perfect place to learn more.
