What a hidden jewel. So a great little place for wine, cheese, sausage and more
Such a beautiful winery with a fabulous selection, especially interesting European wines. Jeremy was very helpful and pleased to propose wines and meat from the delicacies. We will definitely be back!
One afternoon in Newburyport, I went to the Grand Trunk Wine Cheese. I came out and thought it was a find. It's not a restaurant. It's really a gift specialty shop. The shop had excellent selection of imported wines and cheeses. The shop also wore imported pasta products and various gourmet foods as well as cutting plates, pans and some other household items. The owners are experts for the products they sell. I have Urgèlia cheese from the Catalonia region in Spain. It was a cow's milk cheese. It had a earthy taste like mushrooms. It's at least 45 days old. The cheese is repeatedly roasted during aging; and, if ripe, it has a semi-soft paste which is pale with some small irregular holes and a damp orange brown loop. Urgèlia is mild and buttery with a semi-soft consistency. In addition to mushrooms, the taste is sometimes described as fruity with an aroma that reminds of moss or almonds. I enjoyed it very much. I appreciate Grand Trunk Wine Cheese on 5.0 and recommend stopping all wine fans and cheese lovers. A great little wine and cheese store tucked away in a small neighborhood in Newburyport! Great selection of wines, a wide variety of cheeses and some other sundries such as some cold cuts and very helpful staff.
