Riverside Cafe And Diner - Newburyport

They make their own corned-beef hash...its quite good. I had poached eggs on top of it...everything we had was good. Service was excellent. We will be going back

Been meaning to stop here and glad that I finally did. We sat outside. Perfect day helped. The food was cooked to our liking. The server was exceptionally nice. Lots of great options to pick from.

We love to come here for a quiet breakfast near the river. When the weather's nice we'll bring the dog and sit outside. Staff are all wonderful, good is great, prices are phenomenal, highly recommend the breakfast bowls!

I came here today with my family was super excited to go out for brunch since it has been a while we came across this place and was happy to sit down and eat lots of food. Well was i mistaken for choosing this place. First off we sat down at the table getting ready to order and our server who was supposed to be listening to what we are ordering was saying by and touching other ppl leaving. So when the food got to the table the order was messed up. We didn't get what we asked for. I had to ask multiple times for water for all of us which she didn't bring till we was at the end of our eating I had ordered the Nutella banana stuffed French toast. And there was NO Nutella in this FT I mean when all these things going wrong I can let one or two things slide because I was a manager of a cafe before I know once in awhile things can get bad. So I brought it to the managers attention. I told her everything that had went wrong. There was no Nutella on my frnch toast we ask multiple times for waters And my girl friend didn't get what she ordered. The manager said she would go see what she could do. When she came back she said she took the French toast off the check BUT proceeded to tell me that they DID put Nutella on it. She had went back into the kitchen to try to get the tub that it was in and asked one of the cooks to get it for her. And when they got it It was put away in the storage area which proved my point that they never used it in the first place but anyway she brought the tub over to me and showed me the Nutella inside of it treating me like I didn't know what Nutella looked like. I asked her if she was calling me a liar and she said no but my kitchen made that frnch toast I said yes but there was No Nutella on it. I just wanted to get out there at that point. I have never in my life ever had anything like this happen to me. I wouldn't ever go back to that place. And I highly suggest you don't either cause if just so happens your food doesn't come out right the manager will be sticking up for the cook not the customer. Highly unprofessional and definitely upset about this whole experience. Disgraceful.

Steps away from the riverfront just off of downtown Newburyport, this classic diner is a perfect breakfast or lunch destination. With a cheerful and efficient service team, Riverside has a wide range of omelettes and delicious eggs Benedict along with deli sandwiches. My personal favorites with the vegetarian bowl and the Portuguese French toast. Enjoy them there or take some home with you! And after your meal, take a leisurely stroll along the riverside.
