Daves Diner - Newcastle

The atmosphere is always relaxed and cozy. I've tried nearly everything on the menu, and I've never been disappointed. The staff here are all hardworking and friendly. The restaurant is clean, has plenty of seating, and as I mentioned, the food is really good. It’s a small-town diner that’s truly one of the best in the area!

Discovering fine diners is a delight. This small-town diner serves comforting dishes at affordable prices. The waitress is extremely attentive, and the service is prompt. Portion sizes are generous, making the prices even more appealing. I will definitely return!

This diner is decent. There’s nothing particularly wrong with this place. The server might not have been glamorous, but she was efficient. The service was friendly, if a bit limited. She mentioned that their top dishes are the chicken steak and catfish, and she was spot on. The catfish was tasty and not at all fishy. The green beans were great, and the white sauce on the chicken roast steak was just right. The best part? Lunch costs only $6.95! At that price for good food, I can overlook the decor and service. If a restaurant makeover show asked me what changes I would make, I would focus on updating the decor with an island theme and bring in professional servers and managers. However, I’d keep the kitchen as it is because it’s doing an excellent job.

My husband and I ate Dave's Diner for the first time. We both had the western omelet. It was amazing! Our waitress stayed right on our drinks and the food came out quickly. It was the kind of restaurant we were looking for and we will definitely return.

We were just passing thru newcastle on our way to california looked up urbanspoon to find diners. we came acrossed daves diner. my husband didnt want to eat there becasue of the reviews. we were there around 9:30 am. And we greeted with a good morning and u all can sit any where u would like. we looked at the menu. while the waitress went to get us coffee. she came back with coffee and water was impressed because most places wont bring water with coffee and less u ask for it. we ask the waitress which was better sausage or bacon. she replied they both are good. i ordered sausage my husband ordered bacon.. when we received are plates the eggs were beautiful and it wasn't greasy. the waitress was right the do have good sausage but the bacon was awesome. actually both were the best i ever tasted. glad we didnt make our judgement on there reviews. because we would have missed out on a good breakfast
