Close to the West Jesmond metro station, this small, friendly bistro in a residential area is exceptionally good. Every dish we've chosen has been delicious and we'll try each other's dishes as we enthuse about the flavours quality of the food. It specialises in venison, locally sourced, but the menu is suitably varied and great wine/drink list. The service is excellent and price reasonable. Our recent visit was about £200 for the four of us for three courses drinks. Booking is recommended as it is a small, popular restaurant, owned by the chef, I believe.
Lovely, small, intimate restaurant with relaxed and friendly staff. The chef hunts their own game and sure knows how to cook it. Great value for delicious and creative food. Have been twice and will keep coming back regularly!
A hidden gem... Those venison bon bons are put of this world! All the food we had was beautiful and the service was great. Such a lovely cosy little bistro with lots of charm. Hats off to Max the chef as the food not only tasted amazing but was beautifully presented. We will definitely be back next month to sample more of the menu.
Great tasting food, well presented and great service. I had the venison for a main and it was good size and very tasty, after the pheasant balls as delicious but easy to start. The chocolate and the Beetroot Brownie were just as good! Very recommended!
Small, friendly, with wonderful food. We stayed a few times during lunch service on a Sunday their lunches are excellent. Despite being small, this restaurant does not feel as if you are on top of each other. My advice is to book well in advance as it is very popular. If they have space for walks, they'll take them. It is very reasonable. Wine map is good. You often have details about daily eating on Instagram. 5* Service also.
