I opted to create my own sandwich with chicken, brie, and chili sauce. Along with a drink and a bag of kettle chips, the total came to £7, which I found to be quite reasonable. During the lunch rush, the staff mistakenly added chorizo instead of chili sauce to my sandwich. When I pointed out the error, they promptly apologized and provided me with extra chili sauce at no extra charge. Despite being too full to try any of their cakes, I thoroughly enjoyed my baguette and would definitely return when in Newcastle.
This morning, I went to breakfast with a friend. The server was friendly, professional, and attentive. We both decided to order the Metzgwurst sandwich, which was delicious. I requested some modifications to my order, which was not a problem. The coffee was hot and tasty, and the service was fast. However, the ciabatta bread was not toasted and seemed to be cold, possibly due to being recently defrosted or stored in a refrigerator. This took away from the overall breakfast experience. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, but the lack of proper ventilation resulted in a noticeable smell of cooking lingering in the air and on our clothes. The prices were reasonable at around 6 pounds per person. I may return in the future, but will wait for better weather to sit outside.
First visit, as recommended, went with a friend shortly before lunch. good choice of food available and very cheap. good choice of meat vegitar. we both chose a top cabatta style brot. I chose sweet Chili chicken and my friend. they were enough to share if they wanted a lighter bite, and we both couldn't finish ours. it was tasty enough, but both agreed that they could be served a bit hotter than they. lady who served us was helpful and polite. would definatley go back
I ordered a club sandwich on ciabatta. it was pretty, although the ciabatta was just a owal bread book - not very authentic. if the ciabatta's roasted or the sandwich would have ended for a few minutes in a hot presse, it would have been better. it was reasonablely expensive, but I would have preferred to be a little more expensive and maybe came with some crawling and salat- just to a bit of a meal from him, as no beside dishes seemed available. my friend had cousinsalat with goat cheese. it was presented very beautifully. She wasn't too sharp, but I tried and thought it was nice. desserts were a real farewell. I bought a costco (damaged) fruit clone (a number of cakes were easily identifiable as costco, so it is a fair assumption that the **** was) and take away 3 tiny cannoli and it was £6.25! the scoone was in order, but the cannoli were a bit meh. I also had a cappuccino that was very viable. service was good, eating came fast and the staff was very pleasant.
Many thanks for the best sandwich I had in the old Greek club had also fresh and tasty and very valuable. very friendly staff. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
