Lola Jeans - Newcastle upon Tyne

I have previously praised Lola Jeans in my reviews, as my family and I often dine at the best restaurants in the area. Lola Jeans manages to strike a perfect balance between upscale and casual dining. However, our recent experience at the restaurant was far from welcoming. Upon entering, we felt completely unwelcome and were not greeted properly. After standing for 5 minutes, we had to find our own table and were snapped at by the staff. Despite being told on the phone that we would have a table, we were then informed that myself and my son would not be seated. When I questioned this, I was met with rudeness and told that I was wrong. The manager even scoffed at me and left us standing for another 5 minutes. When I decided to leave and file a complaint, she laughed at us and suddenly found a table for us. My 13-year-old son felt embarrassed and asked to leave. We chose to dine at The Botanist instead, where we received excellent food and top-notch service.

I am looking forward to returning! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was fantastic! We visited on a Saturday afternoon while in Newcastle and everything was delicious. I highly recommend making a reservation (which we did) as it was quite busy, but the service was excellent and we had no complaints. We started with the Philly rolls, which were incredible, and then both had the delicious burgers. 10/10!

I have been to this restaurant a few times and have been happy in the past, but when I took my family from the south, we were completely disappointed. The service was very poor, we were the first ones in but the fourth to be served. The chips were all soggy instead of crispy, definitely not triple fried as advertised.

The staff where so lovely and helpful. We got the steak fries and a chicken burger as well as starters. The portions where really good and the food was unreal. Will be coming back x

Had a lovely lunch here for a family Birthday. Food was amazing and the service was really special too. Had the Fish and the Chicken Tacos, Burgers and Steak Frites. All the food was delicious. Also had a little one with us and the kids meal was well worth the money ! Special mention to Aiden , his service was spot on and he was lovely to talk too . He was treated unkindly by another table while we were there by rude and arrogant guests. He didn't deserve the way they went on. Will definitely be back
