The Brandling Villa

We were excited to have a traditional Sunday roast, but were disappointed to wait 45 minutes for our food, despite the restaurant not being very busy. No one apologized for the delay. When our meal finally arrived, we were even more disappointed to find frozen roast potatoes and minimal portions - only 2 carrot batons and 3 small cubes of turnip. The serving sizes were small compared to the price we paid.

Super Sunday Lunch at The Millstone in South Gosforth. Fresh vegetables, luscious meat great Yorkshires. Highly recommended

Thank you for visiting our establishment. We met with some old friends and arrived just after 1pm to catch up over drinks. Everything was going smoothly until a staff member approached our table and placed a sign down just before 4:30, informing us that the table was reserved for 5pm. We were taken aback by this sudden notice, as it would have been more considerate to inform us earlier. When we asked where we should go, we were told to find another available table, even though the restaurant was quite busy at that time. It seemed unfair to us that paying customers who had been sitting there for hours were being asked to leave for others who felt entitled to their seats. We decided to stay until we were ready to go, but we do not plan on returning. It is unfortunate that the restaurant is struggling in administration, as this experience showcased a lack of customer service.

We arrived at 6:45pm to meet our family for our annual Boxing Day gathering from all over the North East. We had been trying to contact the restaurant all week with no success, so we decided to take a chance and see if we could get seats. We were ecstatic when we realized we could get 14 seats together, only to be informed when we ordered drinks that they were closing at 8pm. Many of our family members are elderly, with the oldest being 90 years old. It was a complete disaster of a night. We were told that the reason we couldn't reach anyone on the phone all week was because the phone was broken. We checked the website, which had no information about closing early. The customer service was shocking, and after so many years of coming here, we will not be returning.

Used to be a nice pub years ago. Second bad experience now, pub had 1 person in but we waited 45/50 minutes for our food and when it came it was worse than a hungry horse pub. Such a let down, staff are miserable and unwelcoming too. Would never go again!! Don’t waste your money.
