The staff were very good despite it being very busy we didn't have to wait long for our food. We were very full so took a slice of cake each for a treat at home. Thank you.
Unfortunately this tearoom didnt live up to the hype total and obvious lack of interest from the staff atleast 6 people working there when we visited, so no excuse)... starting from when we entered the premises wishing to escape from the rain and had to stand in a queue behind others whilst the waitress had a long conversation with a table of customers already seated she could see the queue building and carrying on out of the shop, but made no attempt to make a polite excuse to the people she was talking to. Eventually shown to a table at the back. Husband ordered a BLT sandwich, which was made using cheap, thin sliced supermarket bread with a handful of lettuce leaves and a slice of cucumber on the side. Have had better bacon sandwiches at greasy motorway caffs! I ordered a cheese and tomato omelette. Husband's sandwich was produced, which he ate slowly) no sign of my omelette. The staff were all gathered round the kitchen hatch debating what condolesences they should be offering to someone who had messaged regarding a relative in hospital. Conversation to be heard by all, and the debate raged endlessly whilst people waited for their food. Various cream teas were then distributed. We asked what had happened to the omelette, as my husband had finished his sandwich by now a few staff faces peeked round at us as if to see who was daring to question, then after a few minutes an omelette was hastily produced, along with a handful of lettuce leaves and 4 tiny squares of..yes, thin, supermarket bread. The most expensive and tasteless omelette I've ever eaten, no way that any cheese was used in it's making, so basically just eggs and tomatoes. RIP off!! The older staff working there should be ensuring that the younger ones are doing their jobs and not being distracted by their personal chit chat, but sadly they were just as guilty. Won't be visiting again!
Starting with the positive: good selection of loose teas, which was why we chose to go in. But there was no way to remove the leaves from the tea pot to stop the brew, which for green or white tea, is essential. So only got one cup from the pot because it overbrewed. Food was very mediocre and cheap quality ingredients. Sandwiches were acceptable but basic. The soup was just a tiny bowl of tinned vegetable soup with a cheap bread bun. Did not even bother eating it because it was awful.
We always visit Tisanes when in Broadway, for an excellent mug of Cappuccino and a 'spoilt for choice ' selection of cakes. Indoor and outdoor seating and dogs are welcome. Highly Recommended!
2nd visit, for afternoon tea, wow, great food, great service, we sat outside today, lovely setting the rain came but we were looked after like royalty can't wait for the next visit..
