Il Grifone - Newcastle

We visited this restaurant from Sydney last weekend. The Portside location is charming and engaging, with the only downside being the noise from the lively bar next door. We ordered the steak, bolognese pasta, salmon, polenta chips, and pancakes for dessert. The food was delightful, and the service was warm and welcoming.

Sooo good, lots of fun. Had a great night tonight. Food, service, atmosphere all spot on. Will be back.

The food here is excellent, and the staff is incredibly accommodating. While there are limited vegetarian options on the menu, the chef kindly prepared a vegetarian meal for me that wasn't listed, catering to my dietary needs, and it was absolutely perfect.

$22 for veal scaloppine and a glass of wine. Absolutely fantastic.

Great food and service! Waiter was lovely. I had the Marinara pasta and it was absolutely amazing. The seafood was so fresh, particularly the mussels, some of the freshest I’ve ever had. The pasta could use some more sauce though. Overall, great place and would definitely recommend
