Louise's Rock House - Newland

We waited 45 minutes for breakfast…basically eggs hash browns. Food wasn’t hot…the order wasn’t even correct when it finally came out. Staff compensated by giving us free cheap sugary baked apple slices. Cheap ingredients, staff running around like they don’t know what they’re doing, person clearing tables dropping stuff everywhere…NO dedicated cashier. Each server had to go up and operate the cash register. It’s a shame that another restaurant doesn’t open in Linville Falls to give this place some competition.

If you like horrible, non-fresh food and absentee servers, then definitely go here #smh

The bbq is very average, but everything else about this classic mountain diner is awesome especially the pies!

I love this place! This is an out of the way local restaurant. Chicken and dumplings, hello! The pies, well, the forest fruit.... We trekked out two days in a row just for special and pie. Love the folks. They smile work hard and deserve your appreciation. We aren't talking fast food here

We were on vacation in the Banner Elk area for a week. We stopped here for lunch after a morning of hiking. By far this was the best food we had during our trip. From the pot roast, grilled trout, burgers and desserts, everything my family ordered was amazing. If you’re in the Linville area, eat here!!
