Montana's Bbq Newmarket

My husband loved his fish chips he got the 2 pieces and the portions were huge. He was therefore quite pleased. I ordered the buttermilk chicken it was warm instead of hot and the portion was smaller than usual. I asked to substitute the caesar salad for the veggies and I was told it wasn 't possible because they had different price points. I pointed out on the menu that the have the same price points and was told that it 's never been possible. I told her I do it on every visit and asked that she check with her manager. Guess what? Substitution OK. I ordered the triple layer chocolate cake for dessert. We were served something different. I tracked down our server and pointed this out. She said yes, I know we ran out of the triple layer cake so the kitchen did their best to accommodate you . That 's NOT the way it should work. I should be told that they don 't have any and asked if I 'd like a substitution. The server doesn 't get to make that choice for me. Overall I found the server completely uninterested in providing the food I wanted and more determined to do what was easiest for her. Service is generally much better.

Sunday lunch time might not be the best time to go because it looked like their grill was not at optimal level and some ribs were either too dried (cooked too long at lower heat setting) or just cold inside the ribs. Wait time for rib was very slow initial plate took about 30 mins to arrive and refills (AYCE ribfest) were about 15 mins each time. Some little flies were buzzling around so a bit of nuisance there. Service was actually good but the kitchen really needs to catch up on quality and speed.
