It’s not only incredibly delicious but also one of the lowest-calorie options on the menu. 3. Don't miss the Goan Curry Vegetarian; it's a unique flavor that's difficult to replicate, as it's the chef's specialty. 4. If you are Indian, be cautious when it comes to spice levels. The waiter will ask about your preferred spice level, but the Indian options can be excessively hot, even for those like me who love spice. 5. The tandoori dishes are a real treat. Ask the chef to slow roast them with plenty of lime and spices to experience an authentic Indian tandoori flavor. Overall, this place is a gem for Indian cuisine lovers!
Without a doubt, this is the best Indian restaurant in Rhode Island—and even in nearby Connecticut. There’s a fancy Indian restaurant a few towns to the north that looks impressive, but the food at Maharaja is simply better. Don’t be deterred by the quirky colors and unusual setting in the odd hotel; the food is superb. The staff here is also incredibly friendly. Overall, the combination of excellent food, attentive and enthusiastic service, unique decor, and Bollywood movies playing on the TV makes for a fantastic dining experience. It’s one of my favorite places!
The staff is very friendly and there are a variety of naan options available. They offer plenty of vegetarian choices, and the #59 is absolutely delicious. We highly recommend this place!
They have done it again!!! I cannot help but express how satisfied I am with the quality of service and friendly atmosphere maharajah delivers each time I visit. I came in with a party of 4 and we were given seats spacious for 6 people, at the family table. I ordered the Mango Lassi for everyone and we shared the honey and ginger Naan bread. We then enjoyed a variety of entrees served alongside a warm bed of rice. To say the least we were starting the night off exceptionally well. If you haven't tried the Ginger and Honey Naan yet you should, between a party of 4 we could have easily gone through 2 orders. The mango Lassi is a personal favorite drink that pairs well with any savory dish but if you prefer alcoholic beverages they have a wide variety of selections as well. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you want an experience with friends or family that is sure to please everybody you have to stop by maharajah if your visiting the narragansett area. Thank you to everyone on service last night!!! I enjoyed the conversations we shared and was grateful for the hospitality that made us feel comfortable and welcome. I'll definitely be coming back time and time again.
Love the food but their service is still a hot mess. If you go during peak times the service is slow yet frantic. Great Groupon deals so make sure to check for those online first. Great lunch specials too. Still let me BYOB even though they now have a license. Varied spice levels drive me crazy sometimes I get medium and it's mild tasting other times I get medium and it's so spicy I can't eat it. Still a fun place and the prices are reasonable. I've enjoyed every dish I've tried, no misses, but the curry chicken is a standout.
