New China Buffet - Newport

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Generally when visiting I plan on consuming 5 plates of the coconut shrimp, no more and most certainly no less. Occasionally my wife will break into fits of crying as the seams on my pants begin to stretch beyond their reasonable physical limits. Thankfully the sounds of my wife's sorrow are tuned out by the rapid succession of clangs and clinks as my fork scrapes and assaults the plate, greedily lapping up every juicy morsel of coconut heaven. There are also free refills on hand and near the tables should you need to give your new shrimpy friends a delicious sugar bath. Seating is typically readily available and the polite staff never raises a complaint when I pull together three chairs to support my body for the oncoming shrimp onslaught. I cannot recommend this stop enough if you are looking for a substantial, succulent chinese meal.

The food was pretty good... Me and son liked it and will be returning. Oh and if the food does not get eaten, they will keep stirring it all day til it does! So watch the times and days you go to a chinese buffet!

Found a hair in my crab ragoon that was in my mouth and I had to pull the long hair out of my mouth... It ruined the whole experience... The boss said that it was impossible because it was deep fried... He did not offer an apology or anything... He told my daughter she had to use ketchup for her mozzarella sticks... I'm very disappointed in the service, more than the food... Mistakes are human but when you act like you are not human and can't make a mistake that's bad business... Don't eat here in my opinion the service is very lacking...

3rd time visiting. Just not impressed overall. Labeling for the buffet itself is minimal and inconsistent. The grill was not clean. I entered just as they opened and went right to it to get a particular dish and opted not to due to the grill being very dark. The buffet line areas are not maintained enough and the ice cream control is very unsanitary due to the community scoop going from hand to hand to hand. The servers were very pleasant. The food I did eat that was done very well was the chicken wings. Fruit seemed fresh. Overall just not impressed.

Me and my husband frequent this place and have never had a bad experience. Wait staff is friendly and helpful.
