Helmsman Ale House - Newport Beach

I remember when this place used to be newport brewing company. they have done great things and I want to immerse myself when I'm in the opposite. it's a fun place to hang and I'm going in the late morning morning when it serves breakfast. Eating is excellent.

The best bartender experience I’ve had in Newport. I lived in Costa Mesa for years and wish I knew of this place then. Good food and great service at the bar. The drinks are well made and the service is fast. I highly recommend.

This place is great! The staff is friendly and lots of fun, the food is an amazing elevated take on standard bar food, and the drinks are delicious. Troy was super helpful with making our selections, and everything he suggested was spot on! Definitely try the beet poke bowl and the fish tacos, they are simply fantastic. Can't rate this place high enough!

Great bar food at excellent prices. Very chill place. The house beers are hit and miss.

Definitely upper middle-class scale. For a brewery. Love their wing Wednesdays. I can't recall the names of the wings I got, but I want to say it was their spicy buffalo, and lemon pepper. I've gone their several times with my buddy that lives across the street. I also like their chicken sandwiches (recommended by the waitress). It was actually really good. The staff is friendly. The bartenders are.. bartenders. The poor is regulation, and the beers are cold. But be prepared to wait for your drinks/food. I guess that's the only caveat. It's Newport so... That means Newport process. Do with that whatever you want.
