This was my first experience with this restaurant so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t read any reviews in advance I just checked out the menu and ordered pickup because it was convenient for me on lunch break. I ordered the “birria” burrito. I love birria anything so I didn’t think this would be a problem. Anyone who served me on the phone and in person was very nice, however I don’t think that you can really call what I got a birria burrito. They did not provide a cup of the consome for dipping the burrito. Also there was none cooked onto the tortilla of the burrito either. The meat was that beef stew type of meat, but there was barely any of the juice that you would expect with birria the meat was kind of dry and lacked the flavor I was looking for. I called the restaurant back to ask about it and they stated yes this is what I ordered and no it does not come with the consome, but I could always ask to get some in the future. Now I’m unsure if adding it on would cost more, but I already paid a pretty penny for the burrito. That was all I ordered and it doesn’t come with like the salad or side of rice/beans. My total was 16.59 which is kind of high for a sad birria burrito if you ask me. I would be willing to try again because maybe I just went in with the wrong expectations, but I can’t say I’d highly recommend it to someone else. I was fed and that’s about it. Kind of disappointing.

4.6I’m Mexican, and a San Diego, Californian, so I’m picky about my mexican food. I try not to, but I do compare all Mexican food to the food from home. I shouldn’t, it’s just unfair.1st timer here at Guapo’s! I didn’t want my food to be soggy and cold, so I ordered there to go. To my surprise it was very, VERY GOOD! I got the carne asada fries, my husband got the carne asada torta. Both were pretty huge servings, easily shareable. I am happy I finally got to try them, and they didn’t do us dirty! ? Good food, good service, we will definitely be going back to try more!Highly recommend!!

The price went up and the steak got thinner and had a lot of fat. I was told I couldn 't order extra avocado because they were out but when I finally got my food , the regular amount was on it. I tried to order extra onions. I was told I couldn 't because the order was already in even though it took 15 min after my arrival to get the 'Already finished ' dish. Quantity of the sides were a lot lighter too. $30 is way overpriced for the food they now offer. I 'm still goving a 3 rating for food because flavor was still what I remember
